“So, I went down to the potter’s house, and I saw him working at the wheel. But the pot he was shaping from the clay was marred in his hands; so the potter formed it into another pot, shaping it as seemed best to him. Then, the word of the Lord came to me. - Jeremiah 18:3-6
There are circumstances of life when all we can see are “Broken Pieces” from our limited point of view causing us to feel like unusable vessels lacking purpose, simply trying to survive the next storm of life. We arrive in these places during unexpected seasons of trials, pain, or hardship which may settle in for an extended stay, quickly draining us of hope for a better future.
In these difficult places we may question, “Where is God in all of this?,” or wonder if He can put all of the pieces back together. The Lord revealed to Jeremiah at the Potter’s House how He is able to take the Broken Pieces of our lives and reshape us into what He desires us to become. Today, remember regardless of the level to which you feel marred or broken, God has you in the hollow of His hands, and He is still the Master Potter, molding and shaping you as it appears best to Him. God can use our Broken Pieces.
Connecting Faith & Life:
Father, You are the Master Potter and the One who knows what is best as You seek to mold and shape our lives for Your good purposes and for Your glory. Empower us to surrender the areas of our lives which appear broken and shattered, desperately needing to be reshaped by Your mighty hands. In Jesus’s name I pray. Amen.
